In 2004 we took our first steps into the tourist accommodation business when we purpose-built the Beach House, at Aughris, Sligo . Several properties were added since then, all renovations of properties in wonderful locations and oozing with potential.
Both Dermot and myself were capable and passionate DIY enthusiasts and we worked well and tirelessly together at the various renovations – we were aptly described by our friends as a dream team. We had a fantastic group of local skilled helpers to call upon where needed, not to mention the contribution of our children ( slave labour they called it when they were young, it didn’t do them any harm!) and my extended family.
Sadly Dermot passed away in July 2023, an enormous loss to me both personally and in running our business. The evidence of his phenomenal workmanship with those big hands is visible throughout our properties. Dermot loved dogs, (most especially Yorkies) and hence all our properties are pet-friendly, without compromising on quality.
The mission of SheilasPlaces is to provide a high standard of pet friendly self-catering accommodation in wonderful locations. We want guests to leave with a desire to return to stay with us again, and to speak favourably to their families and friends about their stay with us.
Actions speak louder than words and the best star rating is a repeat booking.
